She lives with a couple and a nine-year-old boy in a flat of about 750 sq.m. As a general rule, she would finish her household chores by 5:30 p.m. and would not have to cook until 7 p.m. when her employers come home. In between she reads.

Reading has been a habit for her since she was in secondary school. However, she could not go to college because she had to earn money for the benefit of her three younger brothers. By 2009, two of them will be graduated from universities. "Perhaps I will go back to school then." She said not very assuredly.

She has been working in Hong Kong for two years and a half. She really enjoys working here. "It is because I am lucky. My bosses are good. They give me full salary and holidays." She also finds Hong Kong a very lovely place. "Living here is very convenient. You can buy nearly everything nearby and the people are very nice."

Sumiati likes books on family, women and kids. She also wants to read more about the Holy Quran and the Shariah.
