The Dawah Committee of Kowloon Masjid had organized an Open Day in Kowloon Masjid on 10 October 2010, Sunday afternoon. The response was very encouraging. There was an estimate of over 400 visitors in the period of 2 and half hours in spite of the unstable weather. Many visitors were very interested in different aspects of Islam. They asked a lot of meaningful questions.
The program of the day included short talk on “What is Islam?”, Question and Answer session, display of posters, guided tour in the masjid and its facilities, over the Qur’an classes. There was also tea and snack. Visitors enjoyed their stay and asked many meaningful questions. Among the visitors, there were many teachers of history and liberal studies. There were also groups of undergraduates and their lecturers joining the function.
Many of the visitors were also very interested to take away the printed materials for free distribution. Many of them also left their contact phone number and email address for acquire of news of our activities in the future.
Allah has blessed the function by granting one sister making the Shahadah 5 min. before the end of the program. The sister is an undergraduate in HK University. She first contacted us on our Open Day on 15 Feb. 2009. Since then, she has been reading a lot about Islam and read the Quran chapter by chapter and completed before Ramadan, untill Allah granted her the Hidayah( Inspiration ). Alhamdulillah. We pray to Allah to grant her happiness, wisdom and good health.
